After much consideration and conversation we’ve decided not to attend the Desiring God National Conference. It’s too late to refund our tickets, but if we went we’d have to pay more than double the ticket cost for hotel stays and gas. Combine that with all the transitioning that will be going on and a few hesitations I have about the conference, we’ve decided to stay home.
Hope everyone going has a great time!

We’ve been busy out and about the last few days so I’ve had no time to post updates.
It looks like we will be headed for Panama City, FL! The congregation of Immanuel Baptist Church voted to call me as pastor and I accepted. My first Sunday there is slated for the third Sunday in October.
In a few days we will begin the trek to Minneapolis, MN for the Desiring God National Conference. We’ll be driving and since it’s about a 16 hour trek we’re planning to split it up and do the drive in two days. Everyone driving to the conference should develop some secret headlight flash or something so we can signal to each other along the way and conspire to keep the bad drivers out of our way.
I’ll have my camera and laptop with me so there will be pictures and some blogging while there. I am hoping the blogging is reflective and informative and not controversial. Pray for an edifying conference with good instruction on the proper use of words. I am nervous about a few things that *might* happen at the conference. I pray they do not.
See you all there!

I had previously indicated that I was going to move a little quicker over the next five chapters, posting shorter comments on each of the chapters. I have changed my mind and will instead be tackling all five chapters at once. Since the chapters all deal with Scripture it will be a little easier just to take them together. The post will not be a thorough overview of the chapters. Instead I will pick my way through some of the more helpful or perhaps problematic places in the chapters.
That said, instead of several posts coming quick there will be one post covering the chapters that will take me a little longer to get together.

I’ve switched the site back to WordPress. There are a lot of things I like about Movable Type and some things I really dislike about the new WordPress, but at the end of the day I missed WordPress templating and I missed my own plugins. So this site is set up using my Tippy and WordPress ESV plugins.
Links to old pages will not work, though all the content is on here.

Over at my other blog Exploring the Mystery I wrote a post called History on the Web in which I talk about some of my internet activity over the last few years, particularly as relates to the World Wide Web. It is a bit of nostalgia inspired by my latest move, switching from DreamHost to use MediaLayer as my new web host.
I won’t often post links on here to things I write at Exploring the Mystery, but I thought this one was worth a mention.
In other news, things *might* get shuffled around on here soon. I am trying to make up my mind whether to keep using Movable Type or to switch this blog back to WordPress. Decisions, decisions.

The move is complete. There were a few bumps getting my template moved over, but I think it is all in place. If you see this entry, then you are viewing Seek the Holy on the new web host.

I’ve found a new web host and am in the process of moving things there. Hopefully the move will be transparent. I’ll keep both of my hosts for a little while just in case the new one has problems. Finding a good web host can be a difficult thing to do.

After disappearing without warning a few months ago, the itch to blog has set in again. This post marks my return to blogging. There are a few new things at this site. I am no longer running WordPress, opting for Movable Type due to issues with WordPress 2.5. Also, I am not presently running a custom theme. Little by little I’ll tweak this stock theme.
There may be a little instability in the coming days. For the last few years I’ve used DreamHost for my webhost but after continuous issues with speed and stability, it’s time to find a new home. This is always tricky, but hopefully I’ll have something new set up soon.
